Exactly what I needed!

So a friend have me his Celestron Nexstar SE 8" SCT to try out. Wanted me to show him how to use the scope. First thing I ran into was mounting the OTA on the tripod dovetail. It was awkward! I saw the lift straps and thought it was a good idea. I was right! My friend is pleased.

Farpoint Lifting Straps - 8" Meade and Celestron SCTs and Celestron RASA 8" make it easy to install or remove the optical tube assembly from the base of 8" Meade and Celestron SCTs and Celestron RASA 8" telescopes. Sold singly, the strap wraps around the OTA and secures with Velcro for a tight fit and the built-in handle provides a stable grip.

Placing the strap near the mirror at the center of gravity makes the OTA much easier to lift and maneuver.
