The QHY268C is a cooled, back-illuminated, color CMOS camera based on the Sony IMX571 sensor with native 16-bit A/D and 3.76um pixels.

The Sony IMX571 sensor has on-chip 16-bit A/D for highest resolution of greyscale. The output is real 16-bits with 65536 levels. Compared to 12-bit and 14-bit A/D, 16-bits provides higher sampling resolution. At high gain, the camera yields close to 1e-/ADU with no sample error and low read noise.

Great full well brings vivid colors. One benefit of the back-illuminated CMOS structure is improved full well capacity. This is particularly helpful for sensors with small pixels. Even with unbinned, the 3.76um pixels of the QHY268C has a superb full well capacity of 75ke-.

Ultra Low Read Noise

0.7e- Noise at High gain
3.5e- Noise at Low Gain

The QHY268C has only 0.7 electron of read noise at highest gain and 6.8 FPS at full resolution readout speed. One electron of read noise means the camera can achieve a SNR>3 at only 4 to 6 photons. This is perfect performance when conditions are photon limited, i.e., short exposures, narrow band imaging, etc., making this large area sensor ideal for sky surveys and time domain astronomy.

Extremely Low Dark Current

The back-illuminated Sony Exmor sensor has about twice the QE of similar front illuminated sensors. The QHY268C has zero amplifer glow. In addition the dark current is only 0.0005e/pixel/sec @ -20C.

In order to get smooth uninterrupted high speed transfer of data, the QHY268C has a large 2GByte DDR3 memory buffer.

Multiple Readout Modes is a new function for newer QHY Cameras.  Different readout modes have different driver timing, etc., and result in different performance.  Each readout mode has its advantage and disadvantages.  The QHY600 currently has three readout modes.  In the future QHYCCD may add more modes. These readout modes are currently supported in the QHY ASCOM Camera Driver, SharpCAP software and the N.I.N.A software. You can find the readout list box in the software.

QHY268C Back-Illuminated Color Camera

The QHY268C is a new generation of back-illuminated CMOS cameras with true 16-bit A/D and 3.76um pixels.  This new Sony sensor is an ideal color CMOS sensor exhibiting no amplifer glow. 16-bit A/D gives high resolution sampling of the whole full well range.  Digitizing 0-65535 levels yields a smooth image with continuous gradation of greyscale levels.

QHYCCD will release the first batch of QHY268C cameras in December, 2019.  Like, the QHY600, this first batch of QHY268C cameras is called the Early Bird Version (QHY268EB-C).  It has both the USB3.0 and 2 x 10Gbit fiber ports but the 2 x 10Gbit fiber is functionally disabled.  It can be enabled in future upgrades.  Besides the QHY268EB-C, there is the QHY268PH-C and QHY268PRO-C. The QHY268PH-C has only the USB3.0 port. The QHY268PRO-C has both USB3.0 and 2X10Gbit fiber port.

The price of QHY268EB-C is USD2399. The price of QHY268PH-C is USD2099 and the QHY268PRO-C price is TBD. For other different of the PRO version and Photograph version please check QHY600’s product page.

ASCOM Driver
ASCom guide,ASCom capture and ASCom 2nd have been packet into the ascome3inone driver, it means when you installed this driver, there will be three QHYCCD ASCOM driver on your computer that you can use. One is for camera #1 imaging, one if for camera #2 imaging, one is for guiding camera.

3、Enter the directory / usr / local / cameraplugins, and replace the new plug-in libqhyccdx2plugin and interface layout qhyccd.ui with the old plug-in libqhyccdx2plugin and interface layout qhyccd.ui in the installation directory.

SCENARIO III MEDIUM SIZED CAMERA + CFW+OTHERS
So far QHY600M is the only camera required large sized filter wheel (CFWL). QHY600 is the only monochrome model camera in the medium sized camera category. Like small sized filter wheel (CFWS), the internal adapter of CFWL needs to be removed and replaced with 020002 for screw mounting method. If the QHY600 and CFWL is purchased in a package, the installation works will be performed in our manufacturing facility.

Attention: The standard version of QHY600 cannot support the suit CFW+DSLR lens, because the back focus length is too long. If you are using lens system, please choose the QHY600 ultrashort version (under development).
