JMI · 2" Focuser → 1.25" Eyepiece + T-Thread

A combination adapter for a 2" focuser — run a 1.25" eyepiece for visual, or thread on a camera for imaging.

The JMI Combination Adapter (ADPT2-1.25T) inserts into a 2" focuser drawtube and does the work of two adapters in one. On the visual side it holds a 1.25" eyepiece on a non-marring compression ring for precise, scratch-free centering. On the imaging side it carries a standard T-thread (T2 / M42×0.75), so you can bolt a DSLR (with a T-ring) or a CCD/CMOS camera straight to the focuser — a far more secure, repeatable hold than dropping a camera nosepiece into a 1.25" adapter. The focuser end also carries standard 2"/48mm filter threads. JMI is part of the CXB Astro family.

How it connects

2" focuser ADPT2-1.25T combination adapter visual: 1.25" eyepiece  or  imaging: T-ring + camera
Why T-thread for a camera: a threaded connection holds a camera square and rock-steady on the focuser — it can’t slip, rotate, or sag the way a camera nosepiece clamped in a 1.25" holder can. That stability matters for keeping a sensor parallel to the focal plane and for repeatable framing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the JMI combination adapter do?

It inserts into a 2" focuser and gives you two ways to connect: a 1.25" eyepiece holder for visual observing, and a T-thread (T2 / M42×0.75) for attaching a camera. One adapter covers both visual and imaging use.

How do I attach a camera to it?

Thread your camera to the adapter’s T-thread. For a DSLR or mirrorless body you add the T-ring made for your camera mount; a CCD/CMOS astronomy camera with a T-thread connects directly. The threaded connection holds the camera securely and square to the focuser.

Why use the T-thread instead of just a 1.25" adapter for my camera?

A T-thread bolts the camera on solidly, so it can’t slip or rotate and the sensor stays square to the optical path. A camera held only by a 1.25" nosepiece and thumbscrew is easier to knock out of alignment and can sag under the weight of a heavier body.

Does it have filter threads?

Yes — the focuser end carries standard 2"/48mm filter threads, so you can thread a 2" filter inline below a 1.25" eyepiece or your camera.

Is the eyepiece or camera included?

No — the adapter is sold on its own. You supply your own 1.25" eyepiece, and for imaging your own camera plus the T-ring that matches its lens mount.
