Binocular Accessories

Binoculars deserve better than your hands. The right accessories transform binocular astronomy — eliminating arm fatigue, holding the view rock-steady, and protecting your investment when you're not under the sky. Here's what Farpoint stocks.

Far-Sight Mount Adapter

A precision stainless-steel quick-release that puts your porro-prism binoculars on any tripod or parallelogram mount in seconds. Built far more rigidly than a bent-steel L-bracket, with an integrated finder rail on top. Sky & Telescope Hot Product 2007.

Best for: Anyone wanting their binoculars on a tripod or our UBM. Most porro-prism binoculars with a 1/4-20 tripod socket.

Best for: Binoculars of any size — great for smaller binoculars, essential for larger ones. Holds the view rock-steady, eliminates arm fatigue, and makes sharing views easy.

Far-Sight vs. UBM — which do I need?

Far-Sight and UBM solve different problems. The Far-Sight is an adapter — it gets your binoculars onto any tripod, head, or mount with a precision quick-release interface, and adds a finder rail on top. The UBM is the mount itself — a parallelogram that holds the view rock-steady, eliminates arm fatigue, and lets you share views across any height range. The UBM is great with smaller binoculars and essential for larger ones. Many observers run both: the UBM as the mount, the Far-Sight as the binocular-to-mount interface.

Built to last

Far-Sight, UBM, and JMI cases are all designed and built in the USA by Farpoint. JMI — founded by Jim Burr in Denver, known for transport cases, Wheely Bars, MotoFocus, and other astronomy innovations — joined the Farpoint family in 2017, bringing three decades of design heritage into our brand portfolio.
