Our flexible Celestron dew shields are built from nearly indestructible ABS sheet with sewn-in ultra-strong hook-and-loop fasteners. Foam padding grips your Celestron OTA firmly while protecting the finish, and the felt-lined interior reduces stray light reflections for noticeably improved contrast. They store flat for easy transport to star parties and dark sky sites.
Available in sizes from the 4SE Maksutov through the 14" SCT, with both standard and notched versions for Celestron scopes with side-mounted finder brackets or StarSense modules.
Why Your Celestron Needs a Dew Shield
Celestron SCTs are especially prone to dew because the corrector plate sits exposed at the front of the optical tube. A dew shield extends the tube length, slowing radiative heat loss and delaying dew formation by 30–60 minutes — often enough to finish an imaging session or visual observing night without interruption.
