The three pieces of a binocular rig
The mount — the Universal Binocular Mount (UBM) is a precision aluminum parallelogram that holds the view rock-steady, eliminates arm fatigue, and lets you share views at any height. Great for small binoculars, essential for large ones.
The adapter — the Far-Sight Mounting System is a stainless-steel quick-release that puts inline-socket (porro-prism) binoculars on the UBM or any tripod in seconds, with a finder rail on top.
The protection — JMI travel cases are foam-fitted hard-shell cases cut for APM giant binoculars, in Standard and Deluxe (wheeled) configurations.
How the pieces fit together
Most observers run the UBM as the mount with a Far-Sight as the binocular-to-mount interface, then add counterweights or alternate tripod posts as their binoculars and tripod require. Where do I start?

Do the mount and adapter work together?
Yes — the Far-Sight is the recommended interface between an inline-socket binocular and the UBM, and the two can be bundled. Bottom-socket binoculars attach to the UBM dovetail directly without a Far-Sight.
Which travel case do I need?
JMI cases are foam-cut for specific models — the APM MS 25×100 and APM 28×110. Pick the case that names your binocular, and choose Standard or Deluxe (wheels + retractable handle) by how you travel.
