Put your camera on the telescope — and take it off in seconds.
The Farpoint Dovetail Camera Mount Quick Release Adapter (FDCM) attaches a camera — or any accessory with a standard tripod mount — to a quick-release saddle that clamps onto any D-size (Losmandy-style) dovetail plate. Piggyback your DSLR or mirrorless camera on the telescope for wide-field astrophotography while the mount tracks.
When the session is done, the quick-release saddle pops the camera off in seconds — no tools, no fuss.

Frequently Asked Questions
What cameras will it hold?
Any camera — or any other accessory — that uses a standard tripod mount attaches to the FDCM. DSLRs, mirrorless bodies, and camera-lens combinations for wide-field piggyback astrophotography are the most common use.
Is the dovetail plate included?
No — the FDCM is the camera mount and quick-release saddle only. It clamps to any D-size (Losmandy-style) dovetail plate. If you need the plate, see our universal D-size dovetail bars.
FDCM or the ball head adapter — which should I choose?
The FDCM holds the camera in a fixed orientation on the saddle — simple and rigid, with the camera following where the bar points. The Ball Head Camera Adapter adds a ball head so you can aim the camera anywhere in the sky independently of the telescope. If you want to frame your wide-field shot freely, choose the ball head; if you want the simplest solid platform, choose the FDCM.
