Farpoint Universal Binocular Mount
The parallelogram mount that makes binoculars float.
The UBM transforms binocular astronomy from a tiring arm workout into hours of effortless, comfortable observing. With a 12 lb capacity supporting binoculars up to 100mm, every axis stays in perfect balance — point your binoculars anywhere in the sky and they simply stay where you put them.
Why a Parallelogram Mount Changes Everything
Handheld binoculars are wonderful — for about five minutes. Then your arms start shaking, your neck aches, and you lose the object you were tracking. A camera tripod helps with stability but makes it nearly impossible to look at anything above 45 degrees.
A parallelogram mount solves both problems. The binoculars are counterbalanced so they float weightlessly at any angle — from the horizon to straight overhead at the zenith. You can observe for hours with zero arm strain.
Even better, the parallelogram design lets you raise and lower the eyepiece height by 16 inches without losing your target. Point at a galaxy, then slide the mount up or down so everyone in your group can look — adults, kids, seated observers — all without re-aiming.
The Last Parallelogram Mount At This Price
The binocular mount market has changed dramatically. The Orion Monster and Paragon Plus — once the most popular parallelogram mounts in the hobby — are permanently discontinued after Orion went out of business. The Farpoint UBM delivers professional-grade performance at a price point no other current manufacturer can match.

Built for Serious Binocular Astronomy
The UBM is constructed from aluminum with precision-machined components. It includes two 5 lb counterweights that balance binoculars up to 100mm aperture right out of the box. For heavier instruments, add a third counterweight.
Set Up in Minutes. Observe for Hours.
The UBM arrives assembled. Mount it on your tripod, attach your binoculars, balance the counterweights, and start observing.
Mount to Tripod
Attach the UBM to any sturdy photo tripod with a 3/8-16 screw (pan head removed). Or use the M10 post for telescope tripods.
Attach Binoculars
Use your own L-bracket adapter, or add our Far-Sight quick-release system for instant binocular swapping with integrated finder mount.
Balance
Slide the counterweights until the binoculars float at any angle. Two 5 lb weights handle up to 100mm binoculars.
Observe
Point anywhere — horizon to zenith. Adjust height for different viewers without losing your target. The binoculars simply float.
Note: The UBM does not include a tripod. Use any standard photo tripod without a pan head with a 3/8-16 screw, or use our M10 mounting post for telescope tripods with M10 threads.
Build Your Perfect System
The UBM is configurable. Add accessories during checkout to build exactly the system you need — or add them later as your setup evolves.
Swing Hinge
Adds a 5th degree of motion. Sweep wider areas of sky from a seated position without moving the tripod. The single most popular UBM upgrade.
Far-Sight Mounting System
Quick-release binocular attachment with integrated finder mount. Swap binoculars in seconds and use a finder scope for precise targeting.
Dovetail Assembly
Mount small telescopes or other equipment alongside your binoculars. Adds versatility for observers who want multiple instruments on one platform.
Extra 5 lb Counterweight
For binoculars heavier than 100mm. The UBM includes two 5 lb weights — add a third for the heaviest instruments.
Tripod Mounting Posts
Standard 3/8" for photo tripods or M10 for telescope tripods. Use whichever tripod you already own.

What Observers Are Saying
"While observing the night sky, you'll feel like the mount is not even there. Because all axes are in perfect balance, the binocular simply floats, while you effortlessly point it in any direction."
"The parallelogram gives a big range of eyepiece height without adjusting the tripod — and without loss of target. Ideal for sharing the view with kids at our astronomy club events."
"We highly recommend the Swing Hinge — it provides a 5th degree of motion for an even better observing experience. Once you add it, you'll wonder how you observed without it."
