Where it fits in the workflow
This kit covers Steps 1–2: Laser → Cheshire. The 650nm laser sets secondary alignment and rough primary; the 2" Cheshire delivers the final, precise primary alignment. Add a → Cheshire → Autocollimator later for Step 3 refinement.

Why use both a laser and a Cheshire?
The laser gives accurate secondary alignment and gets the primary into the ballpark in seconds, while the Cheshire's reflective pane reveals subtle misalignment the laser alone can't detect for the final, precise primary alignment. The whole process takes about 5 minutes.
What size mirrors does the marking template fit?
The included center-marking template works with mirrors up to 12.5". Larger templates are available separately.
Will this work on my SCT, Maksutov, or refractor?
No. This kit is for Newtonian and Dobsonian reflecting telescopes only. It is not intended for refractors, catadioptric, or SCT designs.
