The Farpoint UBM Swing Hinge inserts between the UBM and the binocular saddle, adding a rotational axis to the mount's 4-axis parallelogram. The result: smoother tracking across the meridian, comfortable transitions between high and low targets, and no need to physically reposition the mount as you chase an object across the sky.
What the Swing Hinge does
Out of the box the UBM is a 4-axis parallelogram — superb for vertical and horizontal motion. The Swing Hinge adds rotation, removing the slight twist a 4-axis parallelogram alone can have, so the binocular swings freely and points naturally anywhere in the sky.
