JMI · 2" → 1.25" Low-Profile Focuser Adapter

A low-profile 2"-to-1.25" adapter that frees up extra inward focus when your scope needs it.

The JMI Low Profile 2" to 1.25" Eyepiece Adapter lets you use 1.25" eyepieces in a 2" focuser, held on a non-marring compression ring for precise, scratch-free centering. Its defining feature is the low-profile body: by sitting shorter in the optical path than a standard adapter, it gives back valuable inward focus travel — the margin some telescopes need to reach focus with certain 1.25" eyepieces. JMI is part of the CXB Astro family.

How it connects

2" focuser / diagonal low-profile 2"→ 1.25" adapter 1.25" eyepiece
When low profile matters: some telescopes — certain Cassegrains, imaging Newtonians, and scopes with limited focuser travel — can’t rack inward far enough to focus a 1.25" eyepiece through a tall adapter. The shorter this adapter sits, the more of that inward travel you keep.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this adapter “low profile”?

It sits shorter in the optical path than a standard 2"-to-1.25" adapter. That reduced height gives the telescope more inward focus travel, which can be the difference between reaching focus or not with some 1.25" eyepieces.

Why would I need extra inward focus?

Some telescopes run out of inward focuser travel before a 1.25" eyepiece reaches focus, especially when an adapter adds height. A low-profile adapter removes some of that height so the eyepiece can come to focus.

Does it use a compression ring?

Yes — a non-marring compression ring grips the eyepiece evenly for precise centering without scratching the barrel.
