Save your back — roll your 8″, 10″, or 12″ Dob out in one trip, encoder hardware and all.
The JMI Triangle Style Wheeley Bars give your Dobsonian a quick-roll platform for short moves between storage and the observing site. Built on a triangular welded-steel frame, the design is open at the center so it clears any encoder, mounting bolt, or electronics on the bottom of your ground board. Made in the USA by JMI, part of the CXB Astro family.
Fits 8″, 10″, and 12″ Dobsonians — any Dob whose foot-to-foot (cof-to-cof) distance falls between 12.21″ and 20.87″. That's a single continuous range, which gives Triangle Style broader Dob-by-Dob compatibility than any one Sky Trekker model. It's also a simpler, more budget-friendly alternative — it skips the pneumatic wheels and integrated leveling system, but does the same job: scope to first light, fast, without strain on your back.

How to Measure Your Dob's cof-to-cof Distance
"cof-to-cof" is center-of-foot to center-of-foot — the straight-line distance between any two of the three feet on the bottom of your Dob's ground board. To measure:
1. Turn the rocker box of the telescope upside down so the ground board is on top and the feet point up.
2. Identify the three foot positions on the underside of the ground board.
3. Measure the straight-line distance between the centers of any two feet. Be reasonably accurate — within about 1/8″.
4. Compare your number to the Triangle Style range: 12.21″ to 20.87″. If your measurement falls anywhere in that range, Triangle Style fits.

The Open-Center Design
The triangular frame supports the Dob base at three corner points — the open middle stays clear of bottom-mounted hardware.
Many modern Dobsonians have digital setting circles, push-to encoders, or other electronics mounted at the center of the ground board. Triangle Style's open frame keeps those components clear of the dolly — no contact, no relocation, no work-around needed. The same open-center design also works equally well for Dobs without any bottom-mounted hardware.
Configure Your Triangle Style
Two upgrade paths are available at order time. To configure beyond the standard 2.5″-caster setup, contact support@cxbastro.com or add a note with your order.
Triangle Style vs. Sky Trekker Series
Triangle Style isn't the only wheeled platform we make for Dobsonians. The Sky Trekker series is a different design — solid frame, 10″ pneumatic wheels, built-in leveling screws — and may be a better match depending on how and where you observe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will Triangle Style fit my 8″, 10″, or 12″ Dobsonian?
Yes — there are two ways to confirm fit. By size class: Triangle Style is designed for the full 8″ to 12″ Dobsonian range. By direct measurement: it fits any Dob whose center-of-foot to center-of-foot (cof-to-cof) distance falls between 12.21″ and 20.87″. To check yours, see the How to Measure section above. If your Dob is 14″ or larger, look at the Sky Trekker 350 or 400 instead.
Does it work with my Dob's encoder or push-to electronics?
That's exactly what Triangle Style is built for. The frame is open at the center, so any encoder, mounting bolt, or electronics on the underside of your ground board hangs through the open middle with no contact. The same open-center design also works equally well for Dobs without bottom-mounted hardware.
Should I upgrade to the 5″ wheels?
The 5″ locking casters are worth it if you're rolling the Dob across rougher ground — gravel paths, lawn, uneven driveways — or you want extra clearance over thresholds. The 2.5″ standard wheels are fine for smooth indoor floors, garage concrete, and short paved paths. On lawn or gravel the smaller casters can sink in. The 5″ option raises the mount 6-3/8″ off the ground, so factor that into your eyepiece height.
How does Triangle Style compare to the Sky Trekker?
Triangle Style is the simpler, budget-friendly platform — open center for encoder clearance, locking casters, optional leveling screws, and a wider continuous cof-to-cof range (12.21″–20.87″) than any single Sky Trekker. The Sky Trekker series is a different design: solid frame, 10″ pneumatic wheels for all-terrain rolling, and integrated leveling screws as standard. Pick Sky Trekker if you observe from rough ground or want hands-free leveling; pick Triangle Style if you have an encoder-equipped Dob, observe from smoother surfaces, or want a more economical option.
