Screws onto the back of a Schmidt-Cassegrain and converts the SCT rear-cell thread to a standard 2" visual back.
The Lumicon SCT-to-2" Adapter threads directly onto the rear cell of a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope — the standard SCT male thread (2" × 24 tpi) — and presents a 2" holder on the eyepiece side. That turns the bare SCT thread into a familiar 2" visual back, ready to accept a 2" star diagonal, 2" eyepieces, or a 2" prime focus camera adapter. It holds the accessory with a brass compression ring, which grips evenly around the barrel for precise centering without scratching it.
