A precision stainless-steel quick-release that puts your binoculars on a tripod or parallelogram in seconds — the rigid answer to the bent-steel L-bracket.
A small pin threads into your binocular's standard 1/4-20 tripod socket, and the binocular then snaps onto the Far-Sight base via a precision quick-release. No screws to fumble in the dark, no flex, no slop. An integrated rail on top accepts a red-dot finder for aimed star-hopping. Designed and built in the USA by Farpoint.
Specifications
Choose the right mounting screw
The Far-Sight ships with one Standard 1/4-20 screw, which fits most porro-prism binoculars. For non-standard threads or a spare for a second pair, we stock four screw types:
- Standard — 1/4-20, fits most porro-prism binoculars.
- Barska — for Barska binoculars with their proprietary thread.
- T&T Parallelogram — direct-mount stud for T&T parallelogram arms.
- SkyScout — for the Celestron SkyScout.
Compatibility
The Far-Sight works with most porro-prism binoculars (and many larger roof-prism models) that have a standard 1/4-20 tripod socket between the objective barrels — usually under a cover at the end of the hinge. Binoculars with a bottom-socket (on the underside, 90° from the optics) mount directly and don't need a Far-Sight.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Far-Sight do?
It's a stainless-steel quick-release adapter. A pin threads into your binocular's 1/4-20 socket so the binocular clicks onto the Far-Sight base in seconds, with no flex or wobble, and a top rail accepts a red-dot finder for aiming.
Which mounting screw do I need?
Most binoculars use the Standard 1/4-20 screw included with the Far-Sight. Choose Barska, T&T Parallelogram, or SkyScout for those specific fittings. Unsure? Email support@cxbastro.com with your binocular model.
Can I use it on the UBM parallelogram?
Yes — the Far-Sight is the recommended interface between an inline-socket binocular and the Farpoint Universal Binocular Mount, and it can be bundled with the UBM. It also fits any standard 1/4-20 photo-tripod head.
Mount it on a parallelogram
Pair the Far-Sight with the UBM for rock-steady, share-the-view binocular astronomy — and protect your optics in a fitted case.
